Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search Tools
A name, location, or other detail entered into a search box is sent to the third-party company that operates that tool. Norton County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s policy governs its handling of the query.
Emails and Contact Messages
If you send an email or contact-form message, we keep the information needed to read and answer it. We do not share a message outside the organization unless a legal requirement compels disclosure.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Standard server, analytics, and browser technologies may record technical details when a page loads. Those details can include:
- The internet protocol address used for the request
- The browser name and version
- The device category and operating system
- The pages opened and time spent on them
- The referring website, when available
- The date and time of each request
Browser Cookies
Cookies help measure how visitors move through the site and interact with its features. A browser can reject or delete cookies through its settings. Blocking them may cause some tools or preferences to work differently.
How Information Supports Operations
Collected information is used for ordinary operation, measurement, and troubleshooting. In particular, it may help us:
- Maintain performance and availability
- Send search requests to the selected partner tool
- Understand which pages visitors find useful
- Detect errors and repair technical problems
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
Privacy on Linked Services
Links may lead to sheriff and corrections pages, release-record sources, government portals, or outside search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination’s privacy terms and security practices apply. We do not control how another service collects or uses data.
Some advertising companies may use their own technology to measure activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking occurs on the partner’s systems under its policies, not as a record maintained by this site.
When Information May Be Shared
We do not sell personal information. Data may still be handled by limited parties that support the site or respond to a valid legal demand:
- Search providers that process a submitted query
- Analytics companies that measure site use
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads
- Law-enforcement or government authorities acting under a valid legal order
Safeguards and Security Limits
We use customary security practices intended to protect information from improper access, loss, or misuse. No website, network, or internet transmission is completely secure. We therefore cannot promise that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may contact us and request its deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and any necessary identity verification, a visitor may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of personal data we hold
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete eligible information
- Stop certain forms of processing
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this privacy notice as site practices, vendors, or legal duties change. An updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
